Graded VG/EX+ 55 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by SGC with none higher! Rare 1911 Monarch Typewriter postcard featuring Hall of Fame pitcher Chief Bender. Bender is one of only six players in the set, which was issued as a promotion for the Monarch Typewriter Company of Syracuse, New York. Only Philadelphia A’s players are featured in the set, and a glowing testimonial from A’s manager Connie Mack, regarding the merits of a Monarch Typewriter, appears on the reverse of each card. The offered card (3.5 x 5.5 inches) displays even corner wear and a small bend on the upper right corner. The reverse is clean with no writing and bold black print.
