Presented is a very substantial collection of 1963 Statistic Back Exhibits consisting of a near-complete set of 61 different cards (out of 64 in the set) plus 21 duplicates. Missing only the following three cards for completion: Mays, O'Dell, and Pappas. These unnumbered black-and-white cards were issued on thick cardboard and have the player's statistics printed in red on the reverse. This is a very attractive and mostly mid-grade near-complete set. This set is highlighted by many of the great stars of the era, including Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Sandy Koufax, Mickey Mantle, and Stan Musial. Includes the following twenty-one duplicates: Aaron, Chance, Craig, Cunningham, Farrell, Gentile, Groat, two Herbert, two Hinton, Jay, two Kuenn, Moon, Pascual, Runnels, Siebern, Thomas, and two Wagner. Condition is 24% Ex to Ex-Mt, 59% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 17% lesser. Keys: Two Aaron (Ex and Pr), Banks (Vg-Ex+), Clemente (Pr), Koufax (Ex), Mantle (Pr), Maris (Pr-Fr due to pinhole), and Musial (Vg-Ex). The Statistic Back Exhibit card sets (they were issued in 1962 also) are among the most interesting and overlooked sets of the early 1960s, an era in which competition in the card-manufacturing world spurred innovation among all card companies, and no doubt resulted in Exhibit adding statistic backs. This set is also of special note as it was released in the final year the Exhibit Supply Company issued cards. Total: 82 cards (near set of 61 plus 21 duplicates).
