Lot # 798: 1935 R321 Goudey "4-in-1" Babe Ruth BVG VG-EX+ 4.5

Graded VG-EX+ 4.5 by BVG (Beckett). Attractive example of the key card from the 1935 Goudey “4-in-1” set, featuring Babe Ruth on his final card issued during his playing days. The 1935 Goudey cards are particularly hard to find in high grade. The colored flush-to-the-border design makes them susceptible to edge and corner wear. This card has bright colors, a crisp image of Ruth, and even wear to the corners. Mostly clean reverse. The three other players who appear on the card are McManus, Brandt, and fellow Hall of Famer Rabbit Maranville. The puzzle section on the reverse is “Picture 5 Card A.” This is a solid mid-grade example of one of Babe Ruth’s most overlooked but significant cards.
