The 1933 Goudey set is recognized as the single most popular and collected of all 1930s gum issues and one of the most significant of all prewar baseball-card issues. This medium- to lower-grade partial set (173 of the 240 cards) is highlighted by 31 Hall of Famers, including Mel Ott, Rogers Hornsby, and Carl Hubbell. Included are two duplicates (#4 and 51). Condition is 5% Vg-Ex to Ex, 32% Gd to Vg (approximately two-thirds Gd), and 63% Pr to Fr (including some due mostly to a small mark on the reverse). Twenty-two cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC (one by PSA).
