Graded POOR 1 by PSA. Modestly graded example of the legendary Babe Ruth from the 1967 Topps Venezuelan "Retirado" set. The Topps Venezuelan issues are among the most fascinating sets of the 1960s. Three different sets were issued in 1967, with one dedicated to Venezuelan League players, another to current Major League players, and the third, from which this card originates, full of all-time greats. The cards were printed on a non-glossy cardboard stock for sale exclusively in the Venezuelan market. The fronts are designed with a sepia-photo of the respective player set against a blue background. The player's name is printed in black at the top and "Retirado" is printed in red at the bottom. The backs are black and green and have a short paragraph of personal information and career statistics printed in Spanish. This example is bright and crisp with even corner wear. Downgraded due to evidence of album removal on the reverse. This is a very desirable example of one of Babe Ruth's most overlooked cards and one that would be an outstanding addition to a 1967 Topps Venezuelan, type-card, or Babe Ruth collection.
