Graded VG 3 by SGC. N284 Buchner Gold Coin of Detroit Wolverines Hall of Famer Deacon White. Clean and crisp on front with a flawless image and bright colors. Light touches are visible on all four corners. The image is centered towards to bottom and left. Boldly printed reverse with a few areas of light staining. Buchners are unusual in that they feature generic illustrations of the ballplayers rather than the actual likeness of the identified player. This is an incredible example with outstanding visual appeal of this Hall of Famer from the Buchner Tobacco set, one of the few full-color baseball-card sets of the nineteenth century, and one of the most artistically interesting, distinctive, and classic baseball-card sets of the 1880s.
