Graded EX 5 by PSA. Only four examples are graded higher by PSA! Attractive example of Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Famer Chief Bender from the classic T3 Turkey Red cabinet-card series. Turkey Reds are one of the most highly prized of all tobacco issues. They were available only by mail in exchange for coupons packaged with Turkey Red Cigarettes. Because of their large size, they are easily damaged and particularly difficult to find in high grade. The offered example is bright and crisp with honest corner wear (weaker bottom right). The checklist reverse is boldly printed. This card would make a tremendous addition to a high-quality Turkey Red set.
