Graded EX 5 by SGC. Presented is an extremely attractive T3 Turkey Red Ty Cobb example, one of the most beautiful and popular Cobb cards ever produced! This card is additionally noteworthy as it originates from the famous Charlie Conlon collection, which REA had the privilege of offering at auction in 2009 and 2010. This is a superb example! The card is well centered, with bold colors, flawless registration, and no creases or wrinkles. There is light, even touches of wear at the four corners (a bit more on the upper left). The checklist back (with offer) is boldly printed and mostly clean. We are very familiar with this particular card as this is the third time we have had the privilege of offering it. This card originally appeared as Lot 370 in REA's Spring 2009 auction, having been consigned by the estate of Charlie Conlon, one of the hobby's truly great pioneer collectors. This is a remarkable example, one that epitomizes what collectors hope for in a Turkey Red example, let alone an example of the key card of Ty Cobb. It has survived remarkably well and does not display any of the flaws that so often plague these larger cards. This is a very attractive example in a very high grade for the issue and one that would be at home in any world-class collection of Turkey Reds, Ty Cobb, or important prewar baseball cards.
