Presented is a very attractive near-complete set (198 out of 206) of the classic 1955 Topps issue, highlighted by Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider and the rookie cards of Sandy Koufax and Harmon Killebrew. Missing the following eight cards for completion: #47 Aaron, 79, 154, 164 Clemente, 183, 194 Mays, 198 Berra, and 208. Forty-four cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA. PSA Grading Composite: NM 7 (8 cards): #17, 55, 70, 73, 108, 130, 157, and 168. EX-MT+ 6.5 (1 card): #12. Condition of the 154-card unencapsulated balance is 20% Ex-Mt (including a few Nr/Mt), 69% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 11% Gd to Vg (including five altered and one with a slight trim). Unencapsulated Keys: #1 Rhodes (Vg-Ex), 2 Williams (pressed crease, otherwise Vg), 24 Newhouser (Vg-Ex+), 28 Banks (erasure mark on top border, otherwise Vg), 50 Robinson (Vg-Ex+), 100 Irvin (Ex due mostly to centering), 120 Kluszewski (Vg-Ex), and 123 Koufax RC (erasure marks on top border, otherwise Vg-Ex+). This is a strong, mostly mid-grade near-complete set of 1955 Topps, one of the most classic 1950s Topps series. The SMR value for just the 44 PSA-graded cards (factoring in the one half grade at the lower whole-grade level) is $3,390. Total: 198 cards.
