Near-complete set (66/67) of 1963 Fleer, missing just the Checklist card for completion. The 1963 Fleer set is considered by many to be among the most attractive as well as significant issues of the early 1960s. These cards have long been a special favorite of collectors, and with good reason: They are far rarer than Topps issues from the era; they are unusual; they have a great significance to the history of the "bubble-gum card wars;" and the set is relatively small and includes so many great stars from the golden era of the early 1960s. The fact that this set is very challenging to collect in high grade and has a rare checklist card (not included with this set) that is extremely difficult to find in high grade gives this set a mystique and all-the-greater appeal to serious collectors. Condition is 19% Ex or slightly better, 68% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 13% lesser (including one that measures small [#1 Barber] and one with a slight trim). Keys: #4 B. Robinson (2/98 L/R, otherwise Ex+), 5 Mays (Vg+), 8 Yastrzemski (Vg-Ex+), 32 Santo (0/100 T/B, otherwise Vg-Ex), 41 Drysdale (Vg), 42 Koufax (Vg-Ex), 43 Wills RC (small ink marks on reverse, otherwise Vg), 45 Spahn (Vg-Ex), 46 Adcock (Pr), 56 Clemente (Vg-Ex), 59 Mazeroski (Vg+), 61 Gibson (Ex), and 64 Cepeda (15/85 L/R, otherwise Ex). This is an attractive and consistent near-complete set (minus one) of this extremely popular and scarce early 1960s issue. Total: 66 cards.
