Lot # 2884: Signed 1953 Topps #244 Willie Mays PSA/DNA EX-MT 6

1953 Topps Willie Mays card #244, signed by Mays in blue ballpoint pen on the front. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the card, grading the signature EX-MT 6 and certified the card as "Authentic." Willie Mays' 1953 Topps card #244 is one of the most prized of all early Mays cards, and the key rare card in the 1953 Topps set. Given its value within the card collecting community, it's not surprising that few signed examples are known. This is only the fourth signed example we have offered in the past 21 years. Although the signature has light surface wear (mostly his first name), it is still clearly legible. The card is is apparent Vg-Ex condition.
