Presented is an extremely rare 1968 Topps 3-D wax wrapper, one of the most elusive treasures of all 1960s Topps wrapper collecting. In the world of baseball-card collecting, many serious collectors revere the 1968 Topps 3-D set more than any other set of its era. Whether these cards were issued in stores remains a mystery, but legend has always had it that, as a test, a few boxes appeared in selected stores in Brooklyn, N.Y. To the best of our knowledge, however, most 1968 Topps 3-D cards can ultimately be traced back to someone who worked at Topps or Xograph, the company that produced them for Topps. The wrapper measures approximately 5-3/4 x 5-1/4 inches and presents extremely well with normal fold lines and wrinkling of the fragile paper. This is an extraordinarily rare wrapper from one of the most fascinating and distinctive of all sets from the 1960s and would be a tremendous companion piece to any 1968 Topps 3-D complete set or a worthy addition to any world-class wrapper collection.
