Complete 75-card set of the second major football-card series ever issued by Topps, highlighted by Vic Janowicz's rookie card. These colorful cards, honoring college football stars, were issued the same year as Topps’ Connie Mack All Stars and Current All Stars, as well as the 1951 Topps Red and Blue Back baseball sets. Includes two duplicates (#51 and 63). All cards have been partially or completely scratched off on the back and many of the cards have been trimmed through (or near) the perforations rather than detached by hand. Without further reference to these characteristics, the condition is 20% Vg-Ex to Ex, 41% Gd to Vg, and 39% Pr to Fr (including one altered and one with a trimmed side edge). Keys: #1 Monahan RC (Vg), 2 Wade RC (Gd), 4 Parilli RC (Fr), 10 Janowicz RC (Vg), 12 Weatherall RC (Fr-Gd), 19 Campbell RC (Pr), 30 Rechichar RC (Gd), 37 Marlow (Gd), 48 Young RC (Vg), 72 Bright RC (Vg-Ex), and 75 Carey RC (Pr). A very presentable medium- to lower-grade complete set of this substantial and colorful early Topps football issue. Total: 77 cards (set of 75 plus two duplicates).
