Graded NM/MT+ 8.5 by SGC. This is the only example graded at this level by SGC with none higher! Extremely attractive and rare high-grade example of Hall of Famer Mike “King” Kelly ("Right Field" variation) from the popular N284 Buchner Gold Coin series. The card has brilliant colors, outstanding registration, strong corners, and impressive centering. The reverse is clean and boldly printed. Buchners are unusual in that they feature generic illustrations of the ballplayers rather than the actual likeness of the identified player. This is a stunning Hall of Famer example from the Buchner set, one of the few full-color baseball-card sets of the 19th century, and one of the most artistically interesting, distinctive, and classic baseball-card sets of the 1880s.
