Presented is a collection of 1961 and 1962 Topps Stamps. These "cards" are actually stamps that were two-player panels inserted into wax packs of 1961 and 1962 Topps baseball cards (this collection includes eleven intact panels). The 1961 stamps were designed featuring a colorized image (either brown or green) of the player, his name, team, and position. The 1962 stamps were designed in color with the image of the player, his name, team, and position. The stamps featured in this collection include thirty-eight Hall of Famers, as well as numerous stars, highlighted by Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, and Roberto Clemente. This collection consists of the following: 1) 1961 (176 stamps): Condition is 6% Nr/Mt or better, 28% Ex to Ex-Mt, 52% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 14% lesser. Includes four intact two-player panels (included individually in the count). Keys: Aaron (Fr), Banks (Gd), Berra (Vg+), Ford (Vg), three Kaline (Vg-Ex+, Vg, and Pr-Fr), Killebrew (Vg, with tab attached on left), Mantle (Ex-Mt+), Mathews (Vg), two Mays (Vg due mostly to centering and Gd), Musial (Fr-Gd), and Snider (100/0 T/B, otherwise Vg-Ex). 2) 1962 (144 stamps): Condition is 17% Nr/Mt or better, 32% Ex to Ex-Mt, 41% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 10% lesser (including one trimmed).Includes seven intact two-player panels (included individually in the count). Keys: Clemente (Gd), Ford (Gd), Kaline (Ex),Mantle (Vg), Mathews (Fr), Snider (Fr), and Yastrzemski (100/0 T/B, otherwise Ex). A very attractive collection of these unusual and rarely offered Topps insert stamps. Total: 320 stamps.
