Lot # 1414: 1957 Topps Uncut Eight-Card Panel Including Al Kaline

Presented is an eight-card uncut panel (10-1/8 x 7 inches) of 1957 Topps cards highlighted by Hall of Famer Al Kaline. This is a final-production panel with fully printed backs. The cards appearing on this panel are #96 Aguirre, 99 Keegan, 101 Stobbs, 113 Mizell, 118 Porterfield, 125 Kaline (HOF), 136 Hegan, and 146 Ferrarese. This desirable segment has been cut down from a larger production sheet (1957 Topps were printed in 132-card production sheets). This panel originates from the very well-known find of 1957 Topps sheets discovered years ago, most of which were heavily damaged. Some full sheets and many partial sheets in various conditions were salvageable. This panel was almost certainly cut from a heavily damaged sheet. The panel possesses tremendous visual appeal but has light rippling throughout and a small tear on the top border. A worthy addition to any Al Kaline or Topps collection.
