Description

Presented is an unopened hobby box of 1997-1998 Skybox Metal Universe Championship Preview Basketball containing 24 packs. The box is wrapped in its original factory cellophane with two retail price stickers affixed to the left panel. The series is highlighted by its Precious Metal Gems parallel set, which was limited in production to 50 copies per card. Often referred to as "PMGs," they are amongst the most desirable parallel cards in the hobby. A number of factors contribute to this, most notably their unique aesthetic, scarcity, and condition sensitivity. Several prominent Hall of Famers are included in this set, including Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, and Tim Duncan. An outstanding unopened hobby box from this premier modern basketball issue.
