Description

Original 1961 Topps uncut proof sheet featuring 132 cards from the fifth and sixth series. The sheet is especially unusual in that it is blank backed but in all other respects is identical to a final production sheet. Highlights include Hank Aaron, Yogi Berra (2), Roberto Clemente (2), Orlando Cepeda (2), Gehrig Benched, Al Kaline (2), Mantle Blast HR (2), Juan Marichal RC, Bill Mazeroski, Minnie Minoso (2), Babe Ruth 60th Homer (2), and Duke Snider (2). This is a very appealing 1960s Topps proof sheet. The sheet has heavy creasing, two large edge tears on the right side (one repaired with tape on the reverse), and one large edge tear at the top. Despite these flaws, this sheet still has outstanding display value and would make an outstanding companion piece to any 1961 Topps set or serve as an extraordinary addition to any uncut sheet collection.
