Description

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Very attractive example of key Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle from the 1959 Bazooka set. This was Bazooka's first baseball-card set, which has always been revered as one of the rarest and most difficult to collect of all Topps-related sets. Issued just one card per box of Topps Bazooka-brand bubble gum, the cards were intended to be hand-cut by youngsters from the bottom of Bazooka boxes. The card displays outstanding picture quality, light wear on the corners, and a minor surface scratch visible on Mantle's right arm. Clean reverse. A solid mid-grade example of Mickey Mantle, the key card to the set, from this popular food issue.
