Lot # 1715: 1973 Topps Third Series Uncut Sheet (132 Cards) Including Two Mays, Two Carew, Two Kaline, and Two Perez

Original 1973 Topps uncut final production sheet consisting of 132 cards with fully printed reverses. All cards on this sheet are from the third series (#265-396). Arranged in twelve rows of eleven cards each, the sheet features sixty-six different double-printed cards, highlighted by numerous stars and Hall of Famers, including Willie Mays (two cards), Rod Carew (two cards), Al Kaline (two cards), and Tony Perez (two cards). Grading of sheets has always posed a problem as we naturally tend to grade a sheet as if it were a "big card" when really a grade does not capture the condition or visual appeal of a sheet (all the more so as sheets tend to be large). That is certainly the case here. Technically, the sheet is in Good condition due to various condition flaws, including creasing, several edge nicks, and a small tear on the bottom edge. Despite these flaws, this is still an extremely attractive display sheet and projects an overall outstanding appearance. Dimensions: approximately 28-1/4 x 43 inches.
