Description

Complete, original unopened wax box containing 24 packs of 1966 Fleer "Three Stooges" nonsport cards. The box features colorful illustrations of the title characters and comedic geniuses, "Moe, Larry, and Curly." This is just the third "Three Stooges" wax box we have offered in the past 21 years! "Three Stooges" is one of many sets Fleer produced based on television shows in the 1960s which decades later still captivate the attention of collectors. Fleer's "Three Stooges" sets are one of the most popular nonsport issues of the era. This set was issued when the Stooges' movie shorts were being introduced to a new generation of youngsters on television. The exposure revitalized their careers, giving them a second chance to entertain millions. This second shot of stardom was even greater than what they had experienced in the 1930s and 1940s and ingrained the Stooges' comedy into American popular culture. Naturally, many products were produced to capitalize on this stardom, including this set of bubblegum cards. The store display box is bright and bold with moderate-to-heavy shelf wear (the perforated lid is pushed in a bit), including creasing and a spilt seam on the back panel (repaired with clear tape). This box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). This is a rare complete box of this popular issue that would make a great addition to any unopened nonsport wax-box collection.
