Lot # 1795: 1974 to 1980 Topps Complete Set Collection (6 Sets, 4,202 Cards)

Collection of six complete baseball sets spanning the years 1974 through 1980. Also included are two Traded series. Each set offers numerous highlights, including key rookie cards of several Hall of Famers, among them Dave Winfield, Dennis Eckersley, Bruce Sutter, Andre Dawson, Paul Molitor, Ozzie Smith, and Rickey Henderson. We have selected four cards for grading and encapsulation by SGC. This collection consists of the following: 1) 1974 Topps Complete Set (660): 35% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 47% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 18% Gd to Vg. Keys: #1 Aaron (Vg), 20 Ryan (NM 7), 252 Parker RC (Vg-Ex+), 283 Schmidt (Ex-Mt), 300 Rose (Ex-Mt), 456 Winfield RC (Vg+). 2) 1976 Topps Complete Set (660) Plus Traded Series (44): 29% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including a few Mint), 63% Ex to Ex-Mt (mostly due to centering), and 8% Vg to Vg-Ex (including some due to centering). Keys: #19 Brett (80/20 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt+), 98 Eckersley RC (25/75 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 240 Rose (Nr/Mt due to centering), 330 Ryan (80/20 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt+), 345 Ruth ATAS (100/0 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt), 550 Aaron (Vg), and 599 Guidry RC (Vg-Ex). Condition of the Traded series ranges from Ex to Nr/Mt-Mt (averaging Ex-Mt+), with a couple Vg-Ex. 3) 1977 Topps Complete Set (660): 43% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including a few Mint), 47% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 10% Vg to Vg-Ex. Keys: #144 Sutter RC (Nr/Mt), 473 Dawson RC (Ex), 476 Murphy RC (Vg), and 650 Ryan (Ex-Mt). 4) 1978 Topps Complete Set (726): 40% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including a few Mint), 53% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 7% Vg to Vg-Ex. Keys: #20 Rose (Nr/Mt-Mt), 36 Murray RC (NM/MT 8), 400 Ryan (Ex-Mt), 703 Morris RC (NM/MT 8), 704 Whitaker RC (Ex+), 707 Molitor RC (measures a bit small, otherwise Nr/Mt). 5) 1979 Topps Complete Set (726): 12% Nr/Mt or better, 61% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 27% Vg to Vg-Ex (including a couple lesser). Keys: #24 Molitor (Vg-Ex), 115 Ryan (Vg-Ex), and 116 Smith RC (85/15 L/R, otherwise Vg-Ex). 6) 1980 Topps Complete Set (726): 30% Nr/Mt or better, 38% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 32% Vg to Vg-Ex (including a couple lesser). Keys: #393 Smith (Ex-Mt), 482 Henderson RC (NM+ 7.5), and 580 Ryan (Nr/Mt). This is a very attractive mid- to high-grade Topps complete set collection. Total: 6 sets, 4,202 cards.
