Outstanding mid- to high-grade complete set of 1960 Fleer football cards. Fleer issued four football sets during the early 1960s in an effort to compete with Topps' established efforts in the sport. The 1960 set consists of 132 cards featuring AFL players and is highlighted by Hall of Famers Sammy Baugh (Coach), George Blanda, Hank Stram (Coach), and Ron Mix (rookie card) as well as a non-Hall of Fame rookie card of Jack Kemp. The Fleer sets are far rarer than their Topps counterparts from the same era. The condition is 28% Nr/Mt (including some Nr/Mt-Mt), 55% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 17% Vg to Vg-Ex (including two Gd and a couple with a possible slight trim). Keys: #7 Gillman (Vg-Ex+), 20 Baugh (Ex-Mt), 58 Blanda (Ex), 66 Cannon RC (Nr/Mt), 73 Haynes RC (Ex), 116 Stram (Nr/Mt+), 118 Mix RC (Gd), 124 Kemp RC (Ex+), and 128 Maguire RC (Ex). Very attractive complete Fleer Football set, including many Hall of Famers and stars of the era. Total: 132 cards. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
