Lot # 3087: 1888 WG1 Card Game Deacon White PSA GOOD 2

Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. Magnificent example from the WG1 Playing Cards set featuring Detroit Wolverines Hall of Famer Deacon White. This is an exceptional key card from this rare set issued in 1888. The WG1 Playing Card set is one of the few nineteenth-century sets printed in color. While this set has not received as much attention as many other pre-1900 issues, possibly because it is not a tobacco issue, it is a very rare set, far rarer than many of the most popular issues of the 1880s such as N28 and N29 Allen & Ginter. The offered card is bright, crisp, and clean, with vibrant colors and outstanding registration. A small crease is visible on the right edge. This is an exceptional Hall of Fame example worthy of any high-quality WG1, Hall of Fame, or type-card collection.
