Lot # 3257: 1952 Topps #168 Charlie Silvera PSA VG 3 - "Canadian" Gray Back

Graded VG 3 by PSA (submitted by REA). New York Yankees. This card has been consigned by a longtime 1952 Topps collector and enthusiast, who in his many years of collecting has noted that some 1952 Topps "Canadian" gray backs come with the traditional "white front" card stock one would expect on standard issue cards. "Canadian" gray back are typically marked by a cream-colored front card stock in addition to their different backs. While grading companies have not noted the "white front" difference, it is documented on a number of different examples, including six of which appear in this auction. This is a fascinating additional layer of variation from this legendary set!
