Offered is an extremely attractive and mostly high-grade complete set of 1961 Golden Press cards. This classic set features all the great stars of the game, including legendary Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Ty Cobb, Cy Young, and Walter Johnson. This issue is very substantial and interesting, yet is somewhat overlooked in the card-collecting world. Golden Press spared no expense in producing a beautiful set of cards featuring Hall of Famers. For years these sets were sold at souvenir shops in Cooperstown. Looking at the quality and design of the set, it is easy to appreciate its enormous aesthetic appeal both to youngsters in the 1960s and to modern vintage-card collectors that are familiar with the set. Condition is Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt overall, with a few lesser and a few Mint.
