Rarely seen complete set of eighteen original 1957 Sohio Gas Cincinnati Redlegs picture premiums accompanied by the original album designed to house the photos (seven premiums glued into album). Issued as promotional vehicle for Standard Oil of Ohio service stations, each premium measures approximately 5 x 7 inches and features popular Indians team members in action poses. Frank Robinson is the key to the set as it is an early item from his spectacular career. Condition ranges from Vg to Ex-Mt overall, with many of the premiums falling squarely in the Ex range (the seven that remain attached present in similar condition). This complete set consists of the following: Ed Bailey, Gus Bell (attached), Rocky Bridges, Smoky Burgess, Hersh Freeman, Alex Grammas, Don Gross, Warren Hacker, Don Hoak, Hal Jeffcoat, Johnny Klippstein (attached), Ted Kluszewski (attached), Brooks Lawrence, Roy McMillan (attached), Joe Nuxhall, Wally Post (attached), Frank Robinson (attached), and Johnny Temple (attached). The original album presents in Very Good condition overall with light spotting on the front. This is a scarce regional issue that is sure to be of great interest to Cincinnati Reds and Frank Robinson collectors. Total: 19 items (set of 18 premiums plus original album).
