Graded NM 7 by PSA. High-grade example of New York Yankees Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle's 1954 Red Heart card. One of card collecting's classics, Mantle is the key to the 1954 Red Heart set. The distinctive artwork and the unusual product with which they were issued both contribute to making Red Hearts one of the 1950s' most noteworthy sets. The card has bold, bright colors, a crisp image, strong corners, and a clean reverse. In the 1960s and early 1970s, Bruce Yeko's Wholesale Cards had a selection of high-grade Red Hearts in stock, which he somehow obtained directly from the company. Included were a stack of Mint Mantles that he originally priced at a quarter each. He eventually raised the price all the way to $1 before running out. Virtually all Red Heart Mantles in near-mint or better condition originated decades ago from Yeko, one of the hobby's earliest full-time card dealers. This is a fantastic example of one of collecting's most famous cards.
