Lot # 2137: Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris Signed Photograph PSA/DNA MINT 9

Color photo (8 x 10 inches) beautifully signed in blue Sharpie by the legendary "M&M Boys," Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the photo and graded the signatures MINT 9. The photo captures Maris and Mantle posing together as members of the New York Yankees at spring training, circa 1960s. Signed by each player across his respective image. Many collectors might be surprised to learn that Mantle-Maris dual-signed photos are actually scarce. The primary reason for that is that Maris passed away in 1985, just before the "signing-show boom." Unfortunately, the high demand for Mantle-Maris signed photos (as well as balls), coupled with their rarity, has resulted in countless forgeries entering the hobby over the years. Given the large number of problem "Mantle-Maris" photos in circulation today, sophisticated collectors have come to truly appreciate how scarce and desirable authentic examples, such as this, are in today's marketplace.
