Graded VG/EX+ 4.5 by SGC. Rarely offered example of Washington Senators Hall of Famer Bucky Harris from the circa 1954 Mascot Dog Food series. Distributed only in the Philadelphia-area on a one-per-package basis with Mascot Dog Food products, the set is composed of 11 different players. The cards have a black-and-white image on the front with the player's name and team printed along the bottom border. The player's facsimile signature and salutation "To My Mascot" is printed within the upper-left quadrant. The reverse has an advertisement for the company's fan club promotion. These are extremely scarce! In fact, this is the first example of Harris that we have offered. This is one of just three Bucky Harris cards (including the offered SGC example and two PSA examples) from this series ever graded and one of a total of just 27 cards (of any player!) ever encapsulated by PSA and SGC combined. This card has outstanding picture quality, minor wear to the corners, and light toning front and back. The back has bold black print. This is a very attractive rarity that would be a significant highlight in any 1950s postwar, Bucky Harris, Washington Senators, or type-card collection.
