Offered is a complete 44-card subset of "salmon back" variations from the 1957 Topps "Target: Moon" set. The year(s) of issue for the salmon-backed subset is unknown. At least one major grading company labels them as a 1958 issue, but their presence on uncut sheets that include Topps "Hot Rods" and "Who Am I?" cards confirms that they were being produced in the late 1960s. "Target: Moon" features spectacular futuristic scenes and events in man's conquest of space. Trading card sets always reflect the world and times in which they are issued. The "Target: Moon" set, of course, was issued at a time when the space race put the world at the cusp of new and exciting advances in space exploration.
