Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Only three examples have been graded higher by PSA to date. Outstanding example of Boston Red Sox Jimmy Foxx from the 1939 R303-B Goudey Premiums series. Issued in 1939 by Goudey Gum, and catalogued R303-B in the American Card Catalog, this large-format (4-3/4 x 7-3/8 inches) set is printed on thin stock and was issued both in sepia, as well as black and white. R303s are rarely found in such high grade. This is a rare high-grade R303-B example that happens to be one of the key cards in the set. This well-centered example features a striking image and strong corners. The card features playing tips on the reverse, which is clean and boldly printed. This is an fantastic example of this overlooked Jimmy Foxx card, one of the keys to the set, and his last issued by the legendary Goudey Gum Company.
