Presented is an extremely fascinating T206 printing error of Harry McIntyre, which has managed to escape several color processes and appears entirely different than a normal, completed color-process card. The offered card has been through only the first three steps of the color process: yellow (providing a base for the background), black (forming the border and player outline), and brown (responsible for the player name and team caption, as well as shading the image). The card bears a fully printed Sweet Caporal 350-460/30 reverse. Hand-cut and encapsulated as "Authentic" by CGC, this card presents well. Condition flaws include surface damage along McIntyre's jersey and several tiny spots of paper loss on the reverse. When it comes to the T206 set, which is the most highly collected of all vintage-card sets, anything unusual (especially if it might in any way shed light on the mysteries of how the T206 set was printed) is of great note. This is undoubtedly a noteworthy T206 printing error that we believe will be of great interest to T206 scholars and collectors. The T206 set, affectionately known as "The Monster," is the most popular of all 1910-era sets and is still yielding new and exciting discoveries more than a century after its production. As collectors have become more sophisticated, their appreciation for all great rarities and unusual cards associated with this landmark set has grown. Because of its uniqueness, there is no consensus on the value of a card such as this. We are confident the auction process will provide clarity. This extremely unusual, interesting, and very striking printing error from the T206 series is sure to be highly prized by collectors.
