Lot # 258: 1909-1911 T206 White Border Ty Cobb Portrait Red Background PSA GOOD 2 - Old Mill Back

Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. Very attractive example of this classic tobacco card of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the T206 White Border series, with the reverse featuring advertising for Old Mill Cigarettes. Old Mill is an uncommon back and is seen far less often than the standard Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs. The red background pose has long been considered a classic Cobb card. This well-centered card has a brilliant red background, excellent registration, and honest corner wear (weaker top left). The important Old Mill advertising reverse is boldly printed with two spots of debris visible along the "D" in "OLD MILL." This is a visually appealing example of one of Cobb's most famous cards from the premier tobacco issue of the 1910 era with a desirable Old Mill reverse.
