Lot # 2827: Nolan Ryan Signed Photographs, Program, and Promotional Cards Collection (8)

Collection of eight items (photos, program, postcard, and promotional card), each signed by Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan. Ryan played for four different teams during his incredible 27 seasons in the majors and this collection features him with all four teams (Angels, Astros, Mets, and Rangers). Unless noted all the items are signed in blue ink. The collection is composed of the following: 1) "5000K" commemorative postcard of Ryan issued in 1989. Numbered 358 of 500 on the reverse (COA from Ryan Foundation). A postal stamp has been affixed to the reverse. 2-3) Two 8 x 10 photos of Ryan as a member of the California Angels (one signed in silver-paint pen). 4) September 12, 1993 game program from Ryan's final game at Arlington Stadium (signed in black ink). 5) Promotional card featuring Ryan with all four clubs he played for during his legendary career (signed in gold-paint pen, 7.25 x 9.25 inches). 6) 11 x 14 photograph of Ryan as a member of the Texas Rangers (added "Best Wishes"). The photo captures the historic game when Robin Ventura was hit by Ryan's pitch and charged the mound. Ryan grabbed the young player in a headlock and gave him a beaten he would never forget. Matted to total dimensions of 18.5 x 16.5 inches. 7) Limited-edition newspaper issue of the 1989 Fort Worth Star-Telegram commemorating Ryan's 5,000th strikeout. Numbered 882 of 5000 and laminated for preservation. Matted to total dimensions of 18 x 26 inches. 8) 16 x 20 photograph of Ryan as a member of the Texas Rangers. The "Bloody Lip" photo captures the historic game when Ryan was hit by a line drive off the bat of Bo Jackson.
