Presented is a complete set of 1962 Fleer football cards. Fleer issued four football sets during the early 1960s in an effort to compete with Topps' established efforts in the sport. The 1962 set consists of eighty-eight cards featuring AFL players and is highlighted by Hall of Famers Billy Shaw (rookie card), George Blanda, Don Maynard, Jim Otto, and Ron Mix as well as non-Hall of Fame rookie cards of Gino Cappelletti and Ernie Ladd. The Fleer sets are far rarer than their Topps counterparts from the same era. The condition is 34% Nr/Mt (including a few Nr/Mt-Mt) and 66% Ex to Ex-Mt (including a couple slightly lesser and a couple with a slight miscut). Keys: #3 Cappelletti RC (Nr/Mt), 16 Shaw RC (Ex due to centering), 46 Blanda (Ex-Mt), 59 Maynard (25/75 T/B, otherwise Ex-Mt+), 72 Otto (Ex), 79 Kemp (Nr/Mt), 82 Mix (Ex due to centering), and 86 Ladd RC (Ex due to centering). Extremely attractive mid- to high-grade complete 1960s Fleer football set, including many Hall of Famers and stars of the era. Total: 88 cards.
