Ticket stub (6 x 3.25 inches) to the historic Elvis Presley "Aloha From Hawaii" concert held at the Honolulu International Center Arena on January 14, 1973. This concert was broadcast live via satellite to over 40 different countries and was watched by an estimated 1.5 billion people. At the time, it was the most expensive entertainment special ever produced, costing $2.5 million. What made this concert even more unique was that there was no admission price for the tickets to the show. Since all ticket proceeds were to be donated to the Kui Lee Cancer Fund, anyone buying tickets was simply asked to donate to the fund, in whatever amount he or she could afford. For that reason, no price amount appears on any of the tickets issued for the concert. Even without a set price, fans were generous in their donations, and ticket and merchandise sales raised over $75,000 for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund. The ticket features a portrait image of both Elvis Presley and Kui Lee, who was a popular Hawaiian singer/songwriter who died of cancer at the age of 34 in 1966. Graded POOR 1 by PSA, flaws include staining and excess paper affixed to the reverse.
