Lot # 1668: 1968 Topps #13 Chuck Hartenstein Green Circle Blank-Back Proof Card

Extremely rare unissued blank-back proof card featuring Chicago Cubs pitcher Chuck Hartenstein from the 1968 Topps baseball set. While at first glance this appears to be just a blank-back of an otherwise common card, the offered example is of great significance in that the circle color on this card is noticeably different than other Hartensteins. It has a distinct green coloring compared to the standard orange-colored circle. This hand-cut (by definition, as this card had to have been cut from a proof sheet) example has an ink mark on the reverse, otherwise in Ex condition. This is an extremely unusual Topps rarity that would be very much at home in even the most advanced Topps or proof-card collection. Total: 2 cards (one proof and one final-issue card).
