Complete set of 320 cards highlighted by many Hall of Famers, including Mantle, Aaron, Mays, Kaline, and Banks. Includes three signed cards (#67 Don Larsen, 139 signed by Bobby Shantz, and 140 Bobby Shantz). Condition is 31% Ex to Ex-Mt (including 11 Nr/Mt) and 69% Vg to Vg-Ex (including seven lesser, five that measure small, and one trimmed). Three cards have been graded and encapsulated by SGC (2, submitted by REA) and PSA (1). Keys: #1 Wilhelm (Vg-Ex+), 10 Rizzuto (Ex), 22 Campanella (Gd), 23 Kaline (Vg), 33 Fox (Vg), 37 Reese (Vg+), 38 Wynn (0/100 T/B, otherwise Vg-Ex), 59 Ford (Ex+), 68 Howard RC (Vg-Ex), 103 Mathews (Ex), 130 Ashburn (Ex-Mt+), 134 Feller (Vg-Ex), 158 Hodges (Vg), 168 Berra (Ex+), 171 Roberts (Ex-Mt), 179 Aaron (GOOD+ 2.5), 184 Mays (VG/EX 4), 191 Lemon (Vg), 197 Kiner (Vg-Ex), 202 Mantle (PSA VG 3), 242 Banks (Vg-Ex), 265 Barlick (Vg-Ex), 283 Chylak (Ex), 303 Conlan (Ex+), and 315 Hubbard RC (Vg-Ex+). The 1955 Bowman cards (Bowman's final baseball-card issue) have always been very popular due to their classic "television" style and the inclusion of so many stars. The flush-to-the-border wood-grain design of this issue makes them very susceptible to corner and edge wear, and very difficult to assemble as a complete set in high grade. Overall a very sharp-looking mid-grade complete set. This is the type of vintage set that, to so many collectors, represents the very best value. Total: 320 cards. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (for three signed cards).
