Graded VG+ 3.5 by PSA (submitted by REA). Incredible newly discovered example of one of the key Hall of Famers from the T204 Ramly series. Jesse Burkett is one of only 15 Hall of Famers in the set, which was produced in limited quantities and are thought to have been issued regionally in New England. This card is part of an exciting, fresh-to-the-hobby find of T204 Ramly cards that were saved by the family of the original owner who lived in the New England area, all consigned to REA's Spring 2026 and future auctions. In addition to being one of the most important cards in the set, this is arguably the most majestic of the very few cards ever issued of Burkett. His career spanned 16 years (1890-1905). During his career he batted over .400 three times, a feat duplicated only by Ty Cobb and Rogers Hornsby. After leaving the Major Leagues, Burkett owned and managed the Worcester club of the New England League (the team with which he is featured on this card) from 1906 to 1913, making regular appearances in the outfield until he was 45. The offered card has superb image clarity, honest corner wear, and light wear to the condition-sensitive borders. The reverse is boldly printed and entirely clean. This is a very attractive mid-grade example of one of the most important cards from this beautiful and extremely condition-sensitive set.
