Graded EX 5 by PSA. Very attractive card featuring Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer Gil Hodges from this scarce and distinctive early 1950s New York area regional issue. The "nooks and crannies" associated with the design of these die-cut cards make 1952 Coke Tips very condition sensitive, and technically high-grade examples particularly rare. This card is bright, crisp, and clean, with a superb image, light wear on the corners, and a clean reverse. The lower portion of the card features the home-game schedule of the Dodgers. The reverse features detailed playing tips. These unusual cards were issued one card per old-fashioned six-pack cardboard container of Coca-Cola, stuck in with the bottles. This is a superb mid-grade example of this striking and unusual Hodges card from the scarce 1952 Coca-Cola Playing Tips issue.
