Lot # 1981: 2022 Bandai One Piece Romance Dawn OP-01 Original Booster Box Blue Bottom Case (12 Unopened Factory-Sealed Boxes)

Presented is an extremely desirable original "Blue Bottom" booster box case (factory seals broken) from the 2022 Bandai One Piece Romance Dawn OP-01 Series. The case contains 12 unopened booster boxes with 24 packs per box, totaling 3,456 cards. This is one of the premier TCG cases in existence and one of the few opportunities collectors have had to acquire such a case outside of the year of issue! Serious One Piece collectors will immediately understand and recognize the OP-01 series boxes as having been issued with two variants: Blue Bottom and White Bottom. A number of cards had their printed text corrected and updated in the later "White Bottom" run, resulting in official errata versions circulating in addition to the pre-errata "Blue Bottom" varieties. This provides collectors with a point of distinction between early and later releases in the absence of a first-edition stamp. For collectors of unopened One Piece material, however, there is no such clear distinction between the outer boxes of the two print runs. Obtained by our consignor as a Blue Bottom case shortly after it was released, he dutifully kept it sealed for several years until consigning it to REA this spring. In an effort to ensure the case was advertised appropriately, as well as to capture the significance of the earlier print run for collectors, our consignor authorized us to open the case. We carefully opened the outer box and removed all 12 booster boxes to verify they were, in fact, the desirable Blue Bottom boxes.

Equivalent to Pokémon’s Base Set or Yu-Gi-Oh!’s Legend of Blue-Eyes, Romance Dawn is the inaugural set released for the series. Featuring parallel and alternate art cards, special parallel, multicolored leader cards, box-toppers, and card art derived directly from anime/manga scenes (as well as original, TCG-exclusive illustrations), this is the most coveted One Piece release. Parallel art cards feature the most iconic characters of the series, such as Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Trafalgar Law, Nami, Boa Hancock, Donquixote Doflamingo, Kaido, Crocodile, Dracule Mihawk, Yamato, and Shanks (whose special rarity "manga" alternate art card is considered the "chase" card of the set).

All 12 Blue Bottom boxes remain factory sealed and in exceptional condition. The original outer box has been perfectly preserved with the factory tape carefully cut.
