Description

Centennial Flour was one of the most unusual regional card issuers of the 1940s. Presented is a 27-card complete set of 1945 Centennial Flour which features members of the Seattle Rainiers (Pacific Coast League). Each card features a biography on the reverse, as well as "Compliments of - Centennial Hotcake and Waffle Flour" printed along the bottom. Catalogued F340, this unusual set was the third consecutive Seattle Rainiers set issued by Centennial in the 1940s. There was no set issued in 1946, but they returned with a final set issued in 1947. The Centennial Flour sets have always been highly prized as one of the premier regional Pacific Coast League card issues. There were very few card sets of any type issued during the mid-1940s, and fewer still devoted to Pacific Coast League players, which naturally tend to be very scarce as they were only regionally issued. Each card in this set displays very light spots of adhesive residue on the reverse (visible only upon close inspection), otherwise presenting in Ex to Ex-Mt condition (including a couple higher and lower). Total: 27 cards.
