Description

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded by PSA or SGC! Indianapolis Brewing is an exceedingly rare back for any M101-4, let alone for Hall of Fame pitcher Chief Bender. The 1916 Indianapolis Brewing Co. set is identical in design to M101-4 and M101-5 Sporting News (as is the case with all the M101-4 and M101-5 sets issued by various local establishments), but with advertising on the reverse for the "Indianapolis Brewing Co. – Indianapolis, Indiana." This is a great card with any back, but the advertising reverse in this case certainly does deserve prominent mention and potentially adds a very special dimension of interest. This card has superb image clarity and honest corner wear (weaker bottom two). The reverse advertisement for Indianapolis Brewing Company is boldly printed in black. This is an outstanding example worthy of the finest Chief Bender, Philadelphia Phillies, or rare vintage baseball-card collection.
