Presented is a partial set of this 1960s set issued by Fleer consisting of 49 different cards, out of 66 in the set. The 1963 Fleer set is considered by many to be among the most attractive as well as significant issues of the early 1960s. These cards have long been a special favorite of collectors, and with good reason: They are far rarer than Topps issues from the era; they are unusual; they have a great significance to the history of the "bubble-gum card wars"; and the set is relatively small and includes so many great stars from the golden era of the early 1960s. The fact that this set is very challenging to collect in high grade, and has a rare checklist card that is extremely difficult to find in high grade, gives this set a mystique and all-the-greater appeal to serious collectors. 1963 Fleer are never going out of style with advanced collectors. This is one of the premier sets of the 1960s. Includes eight duplicates. Condition is 14% Ex or slightly better, 78% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 8% lesser. Keys: Two #1 Barber (Ex and Vg), 32 Santo (Ex), 22 Kaat (Vg), 45 Spahn (Vg-Ex+), 56 Clemente (5/95 L/R, otherwise Gd), two 59 Mazeroski (Vg-Ex+ and Vg), and 64 Cepeda (Gd+). Missing the following seventeen cards for completion: #3, 4 B. Robinson, 5 Mays, 8 Yastrzemski, 12, 15, 16, 24, 25, 29, 41 Drysdale, 42 Koufax, 43 Wills, 46 Adcock, 61 Gibson, 62, and 63. This is a very attractive and consistent partial set of this extremely popular and scarce early 1960s issue. Total: 57 cards (partial set of 49 plus 8 duplicates). The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
