Description

Graded MINT 9 by SGC. One of only two examples graded at this level by SGC with none graded higher! Stunning ultra-high-grade example of St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Famer Stan Musial's rookie card, one of the most important cards of the era and the key card of Bowman's first baseball-card set. One of the greatest hitters who ever lived and a seven-time batting champ, Musial retired in 1963 as the National League's all-time leader in hits with 3,630 (since broken) and finished his career with a .331 lifetime average. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1969, his first year of eligibility. This example boasts outstanding image clarity, sharp corners, and a boldly printed reverse. This is a superb ultra-high-grade example of Stan Musial's rookie card, which would be a worthy addition to any 1948 Bowman set or Hall of Fame rookie-card collection.
