Description

Graded GOOD 2 by PSA (submitted by REA). Classic example of New York Giants Hall of Famer Willie Mays' rookie card, one of the most important and famous of all 1950s bubble-gum cards. In addition to being one of the two key cards of the 1951 Bowman set, Mays is part of the scarce high-number series of the set (#253-324). The card has bold colors, a crisp image, and even corner wear. A light crease along the right border contributes to the assigned grade. Light gum stains are visible along the reverse. The 1951 Bowman Willie Mays rookie has always been a card-collecting icon, especially among postwar cards. This is a very presentable example of the 1951 Bowman Willie Mays rookie.
