Lot # 253: Newly Discovered 1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb Portrait Red Background PSA POOR 1 - Carolina Brights Back

Newly discovered example of Ty Cobb (red portrait) with the extremely rare Carolina Brights back. All Carolina Brights backs are great rarities, but this card is even more interesting and desirable because it features Ty Cobb and is the premier T206 card with a Carolina Brights back. It is also the only pose of Cobb in the T206 set that was printed with a Carolina Brights back. The offered example displays a beautiful red background and a crisp image of Cobb. The important advertising reverse is boldly printed and fully intact. Graded POOR 1 (submitted by REA), the card is downgraded due to creasing and rounded corners. Despite the condition issues, the card retains strong visual appeal. This is an incredible rarity featuring Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the classic T206 set, which would be an extremely significant highlight in even the most advanced T206, rare-back, or Ty Cobb collection.
