Description

1887 N284 Buchner Gold Coin Tobacco card of Chicago White Stockings shortstop Ned Williamson. Buchners are unusual in that they feature generic illustrations of the ballplayers rather than the actual likeness of the identified player. The back of this card has been skinned off, otherwise offering a Very Good appearance from the front. A very presentable skinned example from the Buchner set, one of the few full-color baseball-card sets of the 19th century, and one of the most artistically interesting, distinctive, and classic baseball-card sets of the 1880s.
