Description

Offered is a complete 75-card set of 1971 Kellogg's 3-D baseball cards. This set is highlighted by Tom Seaver, Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, Pete Rose, and many other stars and Hall of Famers! Included are thirteen variations (#1, 4, 14, 16, 24, 29, 32, 37, 48, 54, 59, 64, and 73) and three duplicates (#7, 66, and 74). Condition is 58% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including some bordering on Mint), 14% Ex to Ex-Mt, 20% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 8% lesser (due to heavy cracking). Ten cards are graded and encapsulated (seven by SGC and three by PSA): #1a Simpson/120 Strikeouts (VG/EX+ 4.5), 2 Seaver (PSA EX 5), 5 Clemente (EX 5), 7b Alou/Oakland AL (NM 7), 14a Howard/Washington NL (EX/NM+ 6.5), 33 McCovey (NM 7), 50 Banks (NM/MT 8), 58 Perez (PSA NM 7), 65 Rose (PSA EX-MT 6), and 75 (EX 5). Unencapsulated Keys: #10 Mays (Ex+), 15 F. Robinson (Nr/Mt), 51 Gibson (Nr/Mt), 55 Killebrew (Vg-Ex), and 68 Stargell (Nr/Mt-Mt+). The 1971 set is by far the key year for a Kellogg's set run, as this was the only year that collectors were not offered the opportunity to order a complete set directly from Kellogg's. The only way to have assembled a 1971 Kellogg's set was to buy countless boxes of cereal, which included only one card per box. Total: 91 cards (set of 75 plus 13 variations and 3 duplicates).
